John Selah was born to a West-Indian father and an English mother of Irish decent. He has always had a love of music and his craft was forged amongst the woodlands and fields of rural England, originally influenced by the songs of great American and Canadian songwriters from the sixties and seventies.

Exploring a variety of musical genres to breech cultural divides is a key motivation, John Selah performs with guitar and voice, solo and with his band "Wendy's Child", and his lyrically enchanting songs embrace the traditions of rock, folk, country, blues, gospel, soul, funk and reggae. John Selah’s songs have extraordinary poetic power, which often tackle social, philosophical and deeply personal themes.

"I don't love music, as I don't love oxygen. It is part of being, what is. Music is not external or detached enough for me to love it." John Selah.
